Join AIESEC

Hey AIESEC! What’s Up!!!
So this is what it’s like applying to AIESEC based on my personal experience. First thing first, it never once crossed my mind that I would join AIESEC until the last day of Join AIESEC. It was very last minute too, around 10 pm when I submitted the registration form. At first I was like “well there’s nothing to lose, let’s give your best shot and pray for the best!”.
After that, there is two mandatory webinars to attend for all applicants. It is Called Youth Today: Join AIESEC. It was fun and very eye-opening for me. Because to be honest, I wasn’t quite sure on why I decided to join AIESEC. I was a bit clueless too. All I knew is I wanted to be a better person, far more a leader who lead with embedding good values in everything I do.
The next selection step is Leaderless Group Discussion. Mine was on Friday September 9 at 7 pm. I remember that day vividly because I was super close to miss my LGD. It was after Agama Islam class and it was raining super hard while my Gocar app was a pain in the ass too. I finally got back to my boarding house 10 minutes before 7 pm and soaking wet too. But all in all, I think I did great in my LGD. Funny thing is, I was in the same LGD group with my future fellow External Relations Newies, Nessa and Dun. I mean what are the odds that three out of five of us is gonna pass until Newie Onboarding.
After passing LGD, I am obliged to do an interview session. Personally, the interview wasn’t hard at all. In fact, the interview questions helped me to acknowledge my past efforts and appreciate myself even more. It also helped me to find my next goals as a person and as a leader. But truthfully saying, I didn’t expect I’m gonna pass the interview. Because again, I felt like I was still clueless and only know a little. I kept telling myself that it is okay because I already did my best.
I wasn’t expecting a lot on the interview result. But God is always good, He let me walk on this path. So I am officially accepted to do the Newie Onboarding or probation. It was October 1 at BRI WORK, Newie Induction was conducted. In the Newie Induction, I met other Newies. There, we are told which department we belong to. Me and eleven other Newies are in External Relations.
So that’s basically sums up the whole selection process. Oh and also another fun fact, both my LGD and Interview process are supervised and facilitated by Kak Tomy the real blue man. So shoutout to Kak Tom for always giving me chance to grow and develop myself, for believing in me and the things I’m capable of, and for everything you did because you inspires me a lot. That’s all for Join AIESEC and see you! Toodles ❤
